Better turf quality, stripe smut resistance, low maintenance performance, winter color, and traffic tolerance
than other Baron type Kentucky bluegrasses

Denim's disease resistance, good spring green-up, winter color and summer performance make it ideal to
blend with other Kentucky bluegrasses such as Challenger, Midnight, and Unique.

Denim performs well in a mix with Tuff-Seed's perennial ryegrasses, fine fescues; and up to 10% in a
mixture with turf-type tall fescue.

Uses

Denim is recommended for use on athletic fields, golf courses, sod blends, parks and professional
landscaped areas where Kentucky bluegrass is adapted. It is compatible in blends with Turf-Seed's darker
green, lower growing bluegrasses in mixtures with strong creeping red rescues and improved "II" and "III"
series of turf-type perennial ryegrasses, and up to 10% in a turf-type tall fescue mixture.

Soil, Climate and Fertility Requirements

Denim performs well in sand or heavy day softs. Denim performs best in soils with a pH of 5.5 to 8.0.
Two to four lbs. N(Nitrogen)/1000 sq. ft./year is adequate in most areas of the United States. Because of
Denim’s low maintenance performance, lower fertilizer rates will yield quality turf. A balanced fertilizer
ratio of 3:1:2 NPK with sulphur is recommended in most geographic locations.

Stand establishment

Denim requires about 3 weeks for complete germination. Denim has good mowing qualities and can be
maintained at a cutting height of 5/8 to 2 inches.
