Turf managers have long wanted Kentucky bluegrass varieties with high density growth habits,
medium leaf texture, and beautiful green color that can maintain turf quality in hot temperatures
and dry conditions. Now, researchers at Scotts Turf-Seed have developed SPF 30, a Texas bluegrass/
Kentucky bluegrass cross, that offers cool season performance in warm season weather,
ideal for landscapes, sports turf, and golf course applications.

• Maintains good density all summer long with high tiller density

• Add 10-15% SPF 30 to your turf-type tall fescue blends and reduce seeding rates by
25% because of smaller SPF 30 seed size
• Works well in blends with other Kentucky bluegrasses and heat-tolerant bluegrass varieties to
improve density, heat tolerance, and genetic diversity
